At Bellmere, we value student leadership and have committed to providing students with opportunities to develop their leadership abilities as they progress through the senior years of primary schooling.
Our leadership program commences in Year 4. Over the course of the year, students have the opportunity to develop their leadership skills through participating in leadership activities. Students apply for Senior Leader recognition in Term 4, Year 5 in preparation for taking on our major leadership positions in Year 6. The Senior Leaders of our school aspire to be great role models to the younger students and also work hard to raise money for causes outside the school as well as for our school.
Our student leadership team consists of the following captaincy positions:
- Two School Captains
- Eight House Captains - two for each House (Kabi, Bell, Bunya and Wararba)
- Two Music Captains
- Multicultural Captain
- STEM Captain
- Senior Leaders
- Student Councillors - two from each class from Years 4-6
These student leaders are elected into their positions by their peers through democratic vote.
