Excursions/Incursions
At
Bellmere, we believe that students should be given opportunities to experience
life outside of the school (or bring experiences to us). Therefore, we
encourage teachers to plan at least one excursion or incursion each term which
has a curriculum focus on content covered in current units of work.
Due to the COVID-19 situation, our planned excursions have been postponed or cancelled.
Some of the
excursions that have been organised in the past include visits to:
- Caboolture Historical Village
- Nudgee beach
- Local park areas
- Australia Zoo
- Brisbane City (inc. Botanical Gardens, city walk)
- Plus many more
Excursions and incursions must be paid for in full and parent permission given before students can participate in these experiences.
Camps
Each year, we participate in two camps with our Year 5 and Year 6 students. Camps destinations have included Barambah Environmental Education Centre, Tallebudgera Beach Outdoor Education School and Currimundi Recreation Camp. A decision about the camp destination is made during the previous year and is communicated with parents as soon as possible.
These camps are designed to develop leadership and team skills that can enhance our student leadership program and contribute to developing the leaders of the future.
Information about camp dates and costs is published well in advance to ensure families have sufficient time to consider their child's participation.
Below is a video for parents to familiarise themselves with the preparations needed for the Year 5 camp in 2025:
