Volunteering at Bellmere State School is highly encouraged and greatly appreciated. We encourage parents, families and community members to volunteer and have a range of areas in the school in which volunteers and contribute. Some of these areas include:
Classroom - a range of supervision opportunities, including taking reading groups, supporting small group work in the classroom, and providing assistance in classroom organisation.
Canteen - supporting the Convenor to operate the canteen by preparing food, taking orders and serving at the counter.
Resource Centre - assisting the teacher aide librarian in maintaining resources, collecting and distributing resources, and tidying the library (shelving books, keeping shelves organised, etc.).
Excursions - assisting teachers in supervising students whilst on excursions outside of the school.
Sports - coaching, training and skill development in a range of sports and physical activities.
All volunteers are required to attend a Volunteer Induction session, conducted on a needs-basis.
If you are not a parent of a child at Bellmere State School, you will also be required to obtain a Blue Card (Working With Children). If you wish to begin the process of applying for a Blue Card, you can contact the Office staff or visit the Queensland Government Blue Card Services website.
Please contact the office to express your interest to volunteer at our school.
