Since the beginning, Bellmere SS has welcomed iPads from home into the school through the BYO-iPad program. Families are encouraged to send an iPad to school with their child every day. Teachers use iPads in the classroom to enhance the learning that occurs and provide opportunities for our students to participate in the digital world.
Our school also places importance on the STEM field of study and offers a STEM program for all students in Prep to Year 6. iPads are a necessary part of this program and all students are provided access to an iPad during this time.
A strict and controlled process around the management, safety and care of iPads in the school is employed to ensure that iPads are taken care of and kept safe. Upon enrolment, students and parents are taken through the BYO iPad expectations. Once understood and signed, the care of a BYO iPad is the owner's responsibility.
There are some limitations to aged iPads and they may not function correctly on the school's secured network. Also, there may be a number of apps that do not work on older iPads. When considering the purchase of an iPad (new or second-hand), ensure that the device is no more than 2 years old.
Please note that our school does not support the use of any other device (i.e. Android, other tablets, etc.) and the device must be an iPad.
